Top 7 hospitals for psychiatry in 2024: US News

Massachusetts General Hospital was top-ranked on U.S. News and World Report's list of the best hospitals for psychiatry in 2024. 

The seven ranked hospitals were recommended by at least 5% of the psychiatric specialists surveyed by U.S. News. The publication named another eight high-performing hospitals in psychiatry.

Here are the top seven hospitals for psychiatry, per U.S. News: 

  1. Massachusetts General Hospital (Boston) 
  2. McLean Hospital (Belmont, Mass.) 
  3. New York-Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia and Cornell (New York City)
  4. Johns Hopkins Hospital (Baltimore) 
  5. Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital at UCLA (Los Angeles) 
  6. Yale New Haven (Conn.) Hospital 
  7. UCSF Health-UCSF Medical Center (San Francisco) 

U.S. News also designated a number of hospitals for psychiatry as "high performing":

  • UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside (Pittsburgh) 
  • NYU Langone Hospitals (New York City) 
  • Stanford Health Care-Stanford Hospital (Palo Alto, Calif.)
  • Sheppard Pratt Hospital (Baltimore)

  • Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center (Baltimore)
