Kay Le Farmer, who was the office manager for her former husband’s therapy practice, pleaded guilty to fraud earlier this year, according to a Nov. 13 release from the Justice Department.
According to the news release, Ms. Farmer fraudulently obtained information from more than 300 of her ex-husband’s patients. Following their separation, she used her former husband’s provider number to bill Medicaid for psychotherapy services that were not provided. From 2013 to 2018, Ms. Farmer billed Medicaid for over $600,000 in fraudulent claims and received around $430,000 in reimbursement for those claims.
