The fastest-growing mental health jobs

Mental health-related jobs are projected to grow three times faster over the next decade than all occupations overall, CNN reported Sept. 7. 

The US Bureau of Labor Statistics expects mental health-related occupations to grow by 12% between 2023 and 2033.All occupations are expected to grow by around 4% over the same time period. 

Mental health counselors are among the top 20 fastest-growing US occupations, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics

Here's how much mental health-related jobs are expected to grow over the next decade: 

1. Mental health counselors: 18.8% 
2. Family therapists: 16.2% 
3. Counselors: 14.4% 
4. Clinical psychologists: 13.3% 
5. Therapists: 11.8% 
6. Mental health social workers: 11.6% 
7. Psychiatrists: 7.6% 
8. Psychologists: 5% 
9. Psychiatric aides: 0.8% 
10. School psychologists: 0.7%
