Mental health-related jobs are projected to grow three times faster over the next decade than all occupations overall, CNN reported Sept. 7.
The US Bureau of Labor Statistics expects mental health-related occupations to grow by 12% between 2023 and 2033.All occupations are expected to grow by around 4% over the same time period.
Mental health counselors are among the top 20 fastest-growing US occupations, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics

- Family therapists: 16.2%
- Counselors: 14.4%
- Clinical psychologists: 13.3%
- Therapists: 11.8%
- Mental health social workers: 11.6%
- Psychiatrists: 7.6%
- Psychologists: 5%
- Psychiatric aides: 0.8%
- School psychologists: 0.7%
