The move also led to the creation of a behavioral health coordinator position, according to a Feb. 9 news release. The position was developed following an agreement from the county’s behavioral advisory team that a program was needed to identify and coordinate mental health resources.
The position will focus on mental health and substance use disparities outside of the criminal justice system across the county, the release said.
