Texas behavioral health center closes

The clinic is operated by Waco-based Heart of Texas Behavioral Health Network.

"We have had to make the unfortunate decision as an agency to significantly reduce our provider services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities due to ongoing state funding shortages," Ron Kimbell, chief strategy officer for the network, told KXXV.

Texas was ranked last in access to mental health services in the U.S. by Mental Health America in 2023.
