The program aims to support older adults who have faced chronic psychiatric issues that have changed due to worsening cognitive issues and reactions to medication and those who face circumstantial psychiatric challenges later in life, according to a Jan. 30 news release from the organization.
The geriatric telepsychiatry offering extends initial meetings to between one hour and 75 minutes to allow the psychiatrists to establish a strong rapport with patients and help make them comfortable with the telehealth process.
Talkiatry has more than 300 licensed psychiatrists available for this program, the release said.
