States with the fewest in-network therapists

Kansas is the state with the lowest percentage of private practice therapists who are in-network with at least one insurance panel, according to a study by behavioral health site Zencare.

Vermont comes in second, and there are only five states in the nation where 50 percent or more therapists are in-network with at least one insurance panel. Twenty-nine states have two-thirds or more of their therapists out-of-network for all patients.
