South Florida mental health center earns Joint Commission gold seal

The Sylvia Brafman Mental Health Center in Tamarac, Fla., has earned The Joint Commission’s gold seal of approval accreditation.

When the commission reviewed the center June 8, it evaluated the center’s patient care, safety, emergency management and more to assess its standard of care.

“Mental health treatment is a critical medical service which transforms lives, Jaime Blaustein, co-founder and CEO of Sylvia Brafman, said in an Aug. 17 news release. [Sylvia Brafman Mental Health Center] makes a unique contribution by delivering a program with an especially strong clinical and medical backbone that addresses medical and spiritual needs.”
