The Pride in Mental Health Act would award grants to organizations for mental health services focused on improving youth mental health and substance use outcomes for members of the LGBTQ+ community, according to a March 18 news release from Ms. Smith’s office.
The recipients would be required to use funds to provide cultural competency training, collect data and develop and disseminate behavioral health and crisis intervention resources, among other requirements.
At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
