Selena Gomez's mental health startup scores $5M funding

Wondermind, a multimedia wellness startup, nabbed $5 million in series A funding, Entrepreneur magazine reported Aug. 12.

The company was co-founded in April by Mandy Teefey, Daniella Pierson and singer/actress Selena Gomez. The site's online newsletter shares daily mental health content, journal exercises and podcasts.

Retired tennis great Serena Williams led the Aug. 12 funding round.

"This funding will be used to accelerate the building of Wondermind's mental fitness ecosystem across our daily online content, CPG products and original storytelling for all platforms — with the ultimate goal of making mental fitness exciting and accessible to all,"the co-founders told Entrepreneur.
