The tool is designed to support the expansion of the U.S. behavioral health workforce, a key priority of the Biden-Harris administration’s Unity Agenda, according to a Nov. 13 SAMHSA news release.
The navigator allows users to access information on education, training, licensure and certification requirements for behavioral health careers across the country. It also helps professionals considering relocation by identifying credential reciprocity between states.
The launch of the navigator comes at a time of heightened concern over behavioral health workforce shortages, which were exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, the release said.
