5. Psychiatry is No. 4 among specialties with the greatest portion of physicians who feel their compensation is fair. Public health and preventive medicine ranked highest, with 72 percent saying they felt fairly compensated, with oncology and plastic surgery at 67 percent and 66 percent, respectively, followed by psychiatry at 65 percent.
