Psychiatric hospitals with the best, worst readmission rates

Becker’s compiled a list of the psychiatric facilities with the highest and lowest readmission rates after an inpatient psychiatric stay using CMS’s Inpatient Psychiatric Facility Quality Measure Data-by Facility.

The database includes provider-level data for nine quality measures included under the Inpatient Psychiatric Facility Quality Reporting program. Psychiatric facilities that are eligible for the program are required to meet all program requirements or risk Medicare payment reductions. 

For readmissions, CMS calculates the rate of patients readmitted to any hospital within 30 days of discharge from an inpatient psychiatric facility.

Here are the 10 hospitals with the highest and lowest readmission rates:
