PeaceHealth to close Oregon behavioral health hospital

Vancouver, Wash.-based PeaceHealth will close Sacred Heart Medical Center University District in Eugene, Ore., due to underutilization.

PeaceHealth said it plans to continue serving behavioral health patients at the hospital at University District until there is a sustainable alternative, according to an Aug. 22 news release from the health system.

PeaceHealth also said it is working with community partners on solutions for outpatient behavioral health care across Lane County.
