Pacific University in Forest Grove, Ore., has received a $1.8 million grant from the Oregon Health Authority in an effort to increase the capacity and diversity of the state's mental health workforce.
The two-year grant will support the university's Master of Social Work program and the Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology program by offering stipends and tuition assistance to students, according to a Dec. 1 report from the university.
The grant is part of $80 million the state allocated to OHA as part of the Behavioral Health Workforce Initiative, which focuses on diversifying Oregon's behavioral health workforce through programs such as scholarships, loan repayment and peer workforce development.
