The substance use disorder treatment provider said the closure of its Ohio Recovery Center was due to an “unanticipated and unprecedented decline” in patient census, an inability to renegotiate lease terms and unsuccessful attempts to gain additional capital investments.
Most of the 85 employees were laid off Feb. 14-27, with a few continuing through to wind down operations until the March 9 final closure date. Nurses, recovery specialists, administrative staff and counselors were among those let go.
The Ohio Recovery Center was one of Ark’s three facilities.
