NYC Health expands youth psychiatric emergency program

NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue opened its renovated Children’s Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program area at its hospital in New York City.

The space is designed to provide children and adolescents a calm and comfortable treatment environment, according to an Oct. 24 news release from the health system. The renovation added three interview rooms, a larger waiting area for families and a comfort room for patients.

The program saw more than 2,000 patient visits in 2021.
