Northwell launches $500M initiative to expand pediatric mental health services

New Hyde Park, NY-based Northwell Health has launched a $500 million initiative to support its pediatric mental health services.

The initiative includes a $350 million investment from Northwell toward capital, programs, services and operating costs, according to a Nov. 8 news release. It also includes a $150 million fundraising campaign to develop a new model of care and build a mental health center.

The 200,000-square-foot Child and Adolescent Mental Health Pavilion will be connected to Cohen Children’s Medical Center and Zucker Hillside Hospital, Northwell’s adult mental health facility, in Queens, N.Y.

The new facility will include over 100 inpatient beds designed for children and adolescent patients and will also host an array of specialty ambulatory clinics treating a variety of disorders to integrate physical and mental health care, the release said.
