The 36,064-square-foot facility will offer inpatient and outpatient care. The freestanding building will have 48 beds, recreational and group therapy, an intensive outpatient program, and substance use disorder treatment.
The health system decided to build the facility to expand its behavioral health services due to a growing population and rise in mental health issues in the area.
Norman Regional currently has 20 inpatient beds at its Norman Regional Hospital campus for adults 18 and older.
The behavioral health center is slated to open in 2024.
