The Indianapolis Colts have partnered with One Mind, a national brain health nonprofit, to support several research and development initiatives.
Kicking the Stigma, the Colts' mental health initiative founded in 2020, has donated $650,000 to support One Mind Rising Star Awards, One Mind Accelerator and One Mind at Work, according to a Dec. 28 news release.
One Mind Rising Star Awards supports research by neuropsychiatrists on the causes of and cures for brain health conditions.
Through this partnership, the Colts will develop the "One Mind Indianapolis Colts Kicking The Stigma Rising Star Award" to support an early career investigator in neuropsychiatry, neurology or related disciplines in their research of underlying disease mechanisms in brain disorders.
Meanwhile, One Mind Accelerator will award $100,000 each to ten emerging mental health companies to address the mental health crisis through entrepreneurship. The third initiative, One Mind at Work, focuses on mental health needs in the workplace.
