The Nashville, Tenn.-based health system purchased PrairieCare, which specializes in pediatric mental healthcare, with intent to expand its treatment services for children and adults, according to a Nov. 30 news release from the health system.
The leaders of both organizations identified the companies’ similar missions and values as the most important factors of the deal.
“The acquisition of PrairieCare will solidify Newport’s growing presence in Minnesota and create a hub for youth psychiatric services in the Midwest,” Joe Procopio, Newport’s CEO, said in the release.
Newport Healthcare offers residential and outpatient treatment programs in 11 states.
