New Mexico to open 7 new behavioral health clinics in January

New Mexico will open seven certified community behavioral health clinics in January 2025.

According to a Dec. 19 news release from the New Mexico Health Care Authority, five organizations will operate the clinics in seven counties.

Albuquerque-based University of New Mexico Health System and Santa Fe, N.M.-based Presbyterian Medical Services are two of the health systems receiving funding to support new clinics.

New Mexico is one of 10 states participating in the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic Medicaid Demonstration Program, which provides federal funding for community behavioral health clinics.

The clinics are supported by $15 million in state funding, according to a Dec. 25 report from Source New Mexico. All will offer 24/7 crisis care.
