New Mexico has become the 15th state to expand access to community-based mental health and substance use crisis care with community-based mobile crisis intervention teams.
The move comes after CMS approved a proposal from the state to add these community-based behavioral health Medicaid services through President Joe Biden's American Rescue Plan, according to a Feb. 6 news release.
Other participating states are Alabama, California, Colorado, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Montana, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Washington, West Virginia and Wisconsin, along with the District of Columbia.
