New behavioral health urgent care becomes 1st in Michigan county

Integrated Services of Kalamazoo (Mich.) opened a new behavioral health urgent care and access center, becoming the first facility in Kalamazoo County to provide same-day mental health and substance use treatment, according to a July 10 report from CBS affiliate WWMT.

The 7,900-square-foot building comprises nine treatment rooms. Additional space consists of offices, waiting rooms, a conference room, reception area, lobby and security office. The building was made possible by $5 million in funding from philanthropic organizations and American Rescue Plan Act funds from the county, according to the report.

The facility will work up to being open every day of the week for 24 hours a day by July 24, but it is currently open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
