New behavioral health center to open in place of closed Illinois facility

Locust Street Resource Center is opening a new mental health facility in Jacksonville, Ill., WLDS reported Aug. 31.

The new facility will take the place of Community Hope and Recovery Center, which closed its doors May 31, citing financial pressures from the COVID-19 pandemic. It will offer a variety of mental health services, including outpatient mental health and substance misuse counseling and group sessions.

Meanwhile, psychiatric services will be offered out of Locust Street Resource Center’s initial office in Carlinville, the report said.
