Joplin, Mo.-based Freeman Health System has unveiled a mobile behavioral health unit at its Ozark Center, expanding access to psychiatric services across rural communities.
The unit — described as a specialized Winnebago — will travel to underserved populations, providing behavioral and psychiatric care to individuals and families, according to a March 26 Facebook post from the health system.
The unit offers telehealth, individual and group therapy, and overdose education, NBC affiliate KSN reported March 26.
At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
