The program will add two licensed marriage and family counselors to the city’s police department, according to a Jan. 3 news release. The counselors will offer in-person care at home or another meeting place at no cost, in addition to supervising four students who are completing their clinical practice requirements.

The program began in December and is funded by the state’s opioid settlements and state Public Safety Aid funds, the release said.
