Michigan health system opens integrated primary care, behavioral hospital

Flint, Mich.-based Genesee Health System has opened a new facility for children to receive primary and behavioral healthcare, HCO+News reported Nov. 22.

The newly constructed Center for Children's Integrated Services on Genesee's campus now has all its pediatric care services, including its Neurological Center for Excellence, Child and Family Services, and the Children’s Autism Center, in the same building. New features also include a playground for autism patients with sensory focused elements.

The 60,000-square-foot building is along the city's main bus line for further ease of access for families.

The facility aims to offer all-encompassing services close to home for underserved families in Flint. It will have lead poisoning evaluation and treatment as the city continues to face a water crisis.
