Eastpointe, based in Goldsboro, N.C., and Sandhills Center, based in Sanford, N.C., would come together with a budget of around $1.4 billion to offer public behavioral health benefits for over 100,000 individuals in 21 counties. The combined company is planned to be headquartered in Moore County, and both organizations, which employ close to 900 people, will retain all their current employees and office locations.

The collaborative organization will temporarily be called Sandhills Center until a new name is determined, and Eastpointe will continue its role as the primary local management entity-managed care organization.

The proposed merge must be approved by North Carolina HSS Secretary Kody Kinsley before it can be established, according to the report.

At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
