Worcester, Mass.-based Community Healthlink (CHL) will cease operations after more than 40 years of service once its programs are transitioned to several community organizations. In early May, CHL shared plans to lay off 78 employees. In July, the provider increased planned layoffs to 231 positions, effective Sept. 16.
UMass Memorial Health and CHL have finalized plans to transfer programs to Behavioral Health Network, Clinical & Support Options, Central Massachusetts Housing Alliance, Eliot Community Human Services, Mentor South Bay and Open Sky, according to an Aug. 7 news release shared with Becker’s.
Behavioral Health Network will operate Worcester-based mental health, addiction and support programs, while Clinical & Support Options will take over programs in North County. Central Massachusetts Housing Alliance will assume responsibility for Continuum of Care supportive housing services.
Eliot Community Human Services will operate the Tenancy Protection Program and Community Support Program for Homeless Individuals. Mentor South Bay will operate the Early Intervention program. Open Sky will assume ownership of CHL properties on Sigourney and Orchard Streets, with plans for a Co-Occurring Enhanced Residential Recovery Service model pending state approval.
Community Healthlink serves more than 22,000 adults, children and families in central Massachusetts annually.
