The center, which will be open 24 hours, will be completed in June 2023 and will provide same-day and urgent treatment for mental health care and substance abuse disorders.

The 7,900-square-foot center will house nine treatment rooms and an alternative police and ambulance entrance for those experiencing mental health crises.

The $5 million project was funded by philanthropic organizations and American Rescue Plan Act funds.

“We believe this coordinated and comprehensive behavioral health urgent care and access system will reduce the need to deploy law enforcement and emergency medical services to intervene in mental health crises,” ISK CEO Jeff Patton said in an Oct. 5 press release. “This will also decrease medically unnecessary community hospital emergency department use and public safety detainment for persons experiencing mental health crises.”
