Created by global mental health company Headspace Health, Ginger’s text-based emotional support platform is accessible 24/7 at no charge to Kaiser Permanente members for 90 days per year, according to an Oct. 4 news release from the Oakland, Calif.-based health system.

After 90 days, members can still access Ginger’s coaching sessions, skill-building tools and progress tracking at no cost.

“[Ginger] sits between our self-care offerings and our clinical care, providing personalized text-based support from trained Ginger coaches to our members in the moment when they need it the most, anytime day or night,” Don Mordecai, MD, psychiatrist and national leader for mental health and wellness at Kaiser Permanente, said in the release.
