The maternal mental health unit was designed to be distinct from other behavioral health units and will provide care for patients experiencing postpartum depression, severe anxiety, severe anxiety, postpartum psychosis, trauma-related disorders and substance use-related mental health concerns affecting pregnancy or the postpartum period, CBS affiliate KUTV reported May 13.
Additional services at the facility will include a behavioral health access center offering walk-in crisis treatment, observation and mental health services for patients 18 and older. The center will also provide medical withdrawal management services, according to the hospital.
