The virtual behavioral health provider is introducing a “smart notes” feature designed to help clinicians document sessions faster. The application shortens administrative time by three to four hours a week, according to a July 24 news release.

The company is launching an AI team led by several executives, including its chief medical officer, chief privacy officer and chief technology officer.

The team will focus on three areas:

  1. Simplifying and expediting providers’ administrative tasks.
  2. Driving clinical innovation, including alerting providers to clinical risks.
  3. Improving productivity and quality in the organization as a whole.

In 2019, Talkspace launched an AI suicide risk alert system, which has flagged 32,000 members whose messages to their providers indicated signs of suicidality or risk of self-harm, according to the news release.

At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
