The project is funded in part by a $4.7 million gift from Milwaukee-based Froedtert Health and will include a 21,000-square-foot addition to the clinic. The expansion will add pharmacy and mental health services and will allow the clinic to serve thousands more patients annually.

Sixteenth Street currently offers primary care, behavioral health care and other services across three clinics in Milwaukee to primarily low-income, Hispanic patients who are either covered by Medicaid or uninsured.

The expansion is expected to open in the fall of 2024, the report said.
