The new hospital will comprise four stories, 83,000 square feet, and 96 to 120 inpatient beds, and construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
Tampa General will provide facility and medical support services, and Lifepoint will manage day-to-day operations. Additionally, physicians from USF Health Morsani College of Medicine’s department of psychiatry and behavioral neurosciences will provide inpatient and outpatient specialized care for pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics, according to an Aug. 22 press release from Tampa General hospital.
State lawmakers, elected officials, board members and healthcare system leaders attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the new facility, which was made possible in part by $10 million in state funding.
