A total of 313 psychiatric facilities had a rate of zero hours of physical restraint per 1,000 patients, and 507 facilities had a rate of zero hours of sedation, according to CMS data.

CMS’ Inpatient Psychiatric Facility Quality Measure Data – by Facility database tracks an array of quality measures that include hours of physical restraint use, tobacco and substance use treatment services, readmissions, medication continuation at psychiatric facilities and more. The most recent data was published Aug. 6.
