Crozer to shut down majority of mental health centers in Pennsylvania

Shortly after Delaware County (Pa.) Council issued an emergency ordinance requiring hospitals to notify the county health department of closures at least 180 days in advance, Crozer Health announced plans to close multiple mental health programs in the county, according to a notice Crozer sent to local news source WWHY

The closures are set to begin June 10 and will affect programs in three of its medical centers in the county.

Some units to be eliminated will be outpatient addiction programs at Delaware County Memorial Hospital, a crisis center and inpatient addiction unit at Crozer Chester Medical Center, and all outpatient services at its Community Campus.

The notice cited "[the] ongoing impacts COVID-19 has created for its organization" as the reason for the closings, though it wasn't specified whether the closings will be permanent or temporary.
