Ground has been broken on a new $200 million state psychiatric hospital in Dallas, Fox affiliate KDFW reported Dec. 5.
The hospital is a joint venture between Dallas-based University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and the state's department of health and human services, according to the news station.
The 200-bed facility is being funded by money approved by the state Legislature and Gov. Greg Abbott, according to KDFW. Dallas-based pediatric hospital Children's Health, meanwhile, is funding a 96-bed youth wing.
The facility is slated for completion in 2025.
