Colorado is currently developing a new Behavioral Health Administration, striving to reform Colorado residents' access to mental health services, reported CBS 4 Denver.
Board-certified psychiatrist Morgan Medlock, MD, was named the new behavioral health commissioner.
"This is really a historic moment for Colorado to build a crisis services center that is able to meet people where they are and also connect them to the continuum of care," Dr. Medlock said.
Dr. Medlock said the administration is working to equip existing walk-in centers with digital treatment options to make services more accessible to Colorado residents.
The Behavioral Health Administration will provide more details on how to access care when a public-facing care directory is launched in July.
