The funding will be allocated over the next three years and is designed in part to aid organizations addressing post-pandemic stress among 5- to 18-year-olds, according to an April 18 news release from the Cigna Group Foundation. The first-year focus will be on programs and services delivered in schools.
The funding will also support intiatives to improve veteran mental health through housing stability and homeownership. The Cigna Group will also launch a Health Equity Impact Fund later this aimed at reducing disparities in areas with high social determinant of health needs.
Cigna will prioritize grants in regions where it serves members with high social determinant of health needs, including Florida, Georgia, Texas, Illinois and several other states.
