The center includes 19 patient rooms for patients up to 18 years old and provides immediate services to address mental health crises as an alternative to emergency rooms, according to an Aug. 2 news release from the facility. The center is open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. but aims to be open 24/7 eventually.

The center is one of four centers recently opened across the state as part of landmark legislation passed in 2022 to address mental health needs in Connecticut.
