Charlie Health to launch expansion of youth mental health services in Colorado

Bozeman, Mont.-based Charlie Health, the largest provider for virtual intensive outpatient mental health programming, is expanding its services to children and their families in Colorado.

"The youth mental health crisis is devastating Colorado, with recent statewide data showing a 103% uptick in mental health-related emergency room visits since 2019," Carter Barnhart, CEO and co-founder of Charlie Health, said in a Nov. 30 news release. "Simultaneously, only 22% of youth in Colorado are receiving the mental healthcare they need. Our mission at Charlie Health is to provide life-saving solutions to young people and families when and where they need it most."

Charlie Health recently published a study alongside the Philadelphia-ased University of Pennsylvania that found of the 495 patients enrolled in the virtual intensive outpatient program over nine months, 71 percent said they no longer had suicidal ideation, 60 percent said they no longer experience symptoms of depression and 58 percent said they no longer self-harmed.

The organization offers services in 17 states, now including Colorado.
