Chico, Calif.-based Enloe Health will close its behavioral health facility in August.
In a statement shared with Becker's, the system said the location has an average daily census of six patients and does not provide comprehensive care, and most behavioral health services are provided at Enloe's main campus.
"To best serve the community, we are centralizing our psychiatric resources to our medical center," Enloe Health told Becker's. "This will provide consistent and comprehensive care that addresses the physical condition of our patients concurrently with the mental and emotional conditions they may be experiencing."
The facility is set to close Aug. 15. Around 35 employees will be affected by the closure, Enloe Health told Becker's. The system has 170 open positions available for staff whose positions are affected.
Enloe Behavioral Health is the only voluntary inpatient psychiatric facility in Northern California, according to a report from Action News Now.
