Boston-based Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and its physician organization, Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians, have appointed Hadine Joffe, MD, as chair of the psychiatry department.
In her new role, Dr. Joffe will oversee the department’s clinical, research and educational programs. She most recently served as the interim chair of the psychiatry department at Boston-based Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where she led the hospital’s Connors Center for Women’s Health as executive director, according to a system news release shared with Becker’s. She also held leadership roles at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center, where her work integrated psycho-oncology and breast cancer care.
Dr. Joffe also holds the title of Paula A. Johnson Professor of Psychiatry in the Field of Women’s Health at Boston-based Harvard Medical School and has published more than 200 peer-reviewed manuscripts on research topics including mood and sleep disorders in midlife women and breast cancer survivors.
