The annual survey was sent to 1,285 community hospital CEOs and received 241 responses. Behavioral health and addiction issues was the third most prevalent issue, with workforce and financial challenges coming in first and second, respectively.
Within behavioral health and addiction issues, the lack of appropriate facilities and programs in the community was the top specific concern at 83%. Meanwhile, 77% of respondents also identified lack of funding to address behavioral health and addiction issues as a top concern.
