Ms. Kasimatis, 48, defrauded the state’s Medicaid and Medicare programs and private payers of nearly $550,000 by billing for behavioral health services that either weren’t provided or were provided improperly, the office said. She used the funds from the scheme to post bail for prior criminal charges and to pay for personal travel, Disney trips, Red Sox games, baseball camps for her children and weight loss services.

In addition to her prison time, she was sentenced to pay restitution and serve three years of probation, the office said. She is barred from working for state Medicaid providers and from billing the state Medicaid program for services.
