Average cost of a mental health consult in 5 US regions

A recent increase in suicides and a “critically high” rate of untreated depression in the U.S. has made access to affordable mental health treatment a top priority for many Americans.

In the U.S., 46.9 percent of the 14.2 million adults with a serious mental illness said they cannot afford mental health treatment, according to data from the American Psychiatric Association.
