The health system expanded its virtual behavioral health offerings in the face of increasing demand during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a Jan. 29 whitepaper from the health system.

This expansion includes the addition of consult teams supporting 12 acute care hospitals, including those in rural areas or without a staff psychiatrist. Atrium also offers on-demand virtual behavioral health capabilities within 65 primary care practices.

At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
