Amazon Care implemented an add-on to the healthcare plan's behavioral health coverage that provides on-demand mental health support to employees.
The system's primary care providers already treat general behavioral health conditions and can refer patients to mental health specialists if needed.
The company's add-on service was announced in August. Employees can use Ginger, an online, on-demand mental health platform to connect with mental health coaches, therapists and psychiatrists.
